Photographing nude, intimate or boudoir photographs is a genre of photography that requires respect and trust. Join photographer and educator, Ali Choudhry and model, Richard Musumeci (Artmodel Richard) to explore nude photography through theory, a live demonstration and by making photographs.
Open to participants aged 18 years and older. Catering provided by Craig’s Royal Hotel.

What to Expect
A presentation featuring examples of nude photography, how to approach a nude photoshoot and dos and don’ts.
An opportunity to experience the Robert Mapplethorpe x Edward Enninful exhibition at the Post Office Gallery.
A live demonstration facilitated by Ali with Richard.
An opportunity to photograph Richard yourself. Please note: Only noncommercial uses of the work produced during the workshop are permitted.
Time for discussion, questions and feedback at the end of the workshop.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this workshop, participants will:
Have an understanding of the ways nudes have been represented in the visual arts.
Be able to plan and execute a nude portrait shoot.
Be able to negotiate consent.
Be able to provide a safe space that is conducive to artistic expression.
About Your Teacher
Ali Choudhry is an artist and researcher based in Melbourne, Australia. He is a current PhD candidate in Photography at RMIT University. His work focuses on relationships as understood through the event of photography. Choudhry has exhibited at numerous public and commercial galleries.
